Over the last 3 years, MasterCard and McCann have brought New Zealanders a ‘Faster Way To Pay’ with MasterCard PayPass, leveraging the (odd couple) relationship of Richie McCaw and his best mate, New Zealand’s favourite rugby super fan, ‘Tim’.
This is the fourth instalment of the hugely successful campaign that leverages TV / Video Content / Social / PR / Editorial / Radio / OOH / POS.
In this spot, Tim is dreaming of joining his best mate Richie at the RWC 2015. Whilst shopping Tim notices the MasterCard promotion where he and three mates could win tickets to RWC 2015 and all he has to do is tap and go three times to enter. Tim and Richie then go on a shopping spree for a chance for Tim to win the big prize.
In 2012 & 2013 New Zealander’s voted Tim and Richie TVCs the Best Ads on Television at the Annual ‘Fair Go Advertising Awards’ – in 2014 it was nominated as a finalist. We’re excited to see what opportunity might be in stall for Tim and Richie in 2015.
